Summary of Functions:
Quality Control package line person will work alongside of package production personnel and monitor all finished product being packaged to ensure Quality and food safety.
This position will monitor all equipment as well as all packaging employees in the package area for correct operation and food safety.
This position will maintain all logs for Quality checks and label checks.
This position will report any deviations that could affect the Quality of the product to the shift QC supervisor.
Major Duties and
Responsibilities:
Work with and keep good relationships with all QC/production staff.
Maintain logs and paperwork depending on area.
NAV15 Check all weights, labels and dies in all areas.
Daily employee hand swabbing.
Check and monitor all metal detectors.
Help to prevent and detect possible problems during the packaging and production process.
For Cheese Plant; Spot inspection on finished pallets after they are moved to Block Warehouse.
Help to keep good relationships with p personnel.
Report all activities and suggestions to improve QC and packaging operations to QA management.
Foot foamers/Glue boards/Foggers.
Have the ability to be a self-starter and to work with little supervision.
Collect product samples during production.
Keep all screen monitors cleaned and sanitized.
Food Safety Requirements/
Responsibilities:
Comply with all Plant, State and Federal OSHA, EPA, FDA, HACCP, FSMA and SQF regulations.
Comply with GMP's in the plant.
Conduct all monitoring activities to assure finished product comply with food safety and quality specifications.
Participates in the yearly review of the food safety system.
Assist in the maintenance of Food Safety and Quality system.
Organizational Relationships:
Position reports to the QC Supervisor.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED.
2 plus years of quality control or sanitation experience.
Knowledgeable of procedures and equipment.
Ability to learn the NAV system.
